2010 was a record shattering year as 63 nonprofit and government organizations/departments serving the greater good for Tama County requested $300K to support undertakings totaling $3.3M in the local economy. Today 40 project leaders learned via mail that they have received funding support from the Tama County Community Foundation totaling about $95K.
Tama County Economic Development Commission recognizes that the greater the geographic scope and diversity in betterment focus, the greater the potential for a robust impact of nonprofits on the local economy. Unfunded projects are welcome to contact their local board representative to find out if specific technical grant writing mistakes held the project back. A workshop is also being planned for January 2011 to help decrease the instances of technical disqualifications. Underfunded projects are also to welcome to contact Tama County Economic Development to see if other granting agencies can help fund (a portion of) the balance to actualize nonprofit leaders’ vision for making Tama County the best it can be.
A sincere thank you to all the Tama County nonprofit professionals and volunteers for your dedication to our betterment.
