Daily we have in-person, online, and telephone meetings with businesses, nonprofits, governments and residents with ideas on adding value to the Tama County economy. You are welcome to touch base to see if we have resources, connections or real time research that can make it as easy as possible for you to take your idea to the next level. These meetings are confidential and free.

Monthly/Quarterly we also have group work sessions on longer-term special projects that proactively shape economies around broader industry clusters. Over 400 leaders from various walk of life come together to collaborate with us on these. A few examples include:

OUR DEFINITION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Raising the productive capacities of Tama County, Iowa in terms of

technologies (more efficient tools, machines, real estate and infrastructure)
knowledge cultures (knowledge of nature, research and capacity to develop improved technologies)
physical, technical and organizational capacities and skills of those engaged in production

This can also be expressed as productivity of labor: using the labor (in conjunction with physical assets) available in more productive and efficient ways to produce a greater quantity/quality and healthy diversification range of goods and services.

MISSION STATEMENT
Tama County Economic Development Commission strives to cultivate capacity building of Tama County, Iowa through changing economic forces by supporting stakeholders in building the products necessary to attract and retain busineses and the labor force by using connections and adding new value.

VISION STATEMENT
increase the level of capital investment
increase the number of fair market living wage jobs and
increase the efficiency with which capital and jobs (manpower) are combined for quadruple bottom line solutions that optimizes sustainable long-term economic health of the individual, enterprise, society, and the environment.

GOALS

GOAL I: Position and promote Tama County, Iowa as a premier rural economy to visit and in which to invest, and do business in and with.
GOAL II: Support businesses to grow and foster innovation.
GOAL III: Get more Tama County, Iowa residents working and help them stay in work and progress.
GOAL IV: Lead the regeneration of Tama County, Iowa both in areas of deprivation and of opportunity.
GOAL V: Drive the transition to a low-carbon economy and maximize the economic opportunities this generates.
