Through collaborative leadership we supplied a pipeline of $812 million in new capital investment projects to strengthen and diversify the assets in Iowa. But beyond big number private-sector prospects we also work with the progressive small businesses, nonprofits, civic leaders, workforce, education institutions, utilities, transportation, housing, etc to maximize productivity and long-term prosperity in our evolving economic landscape.

U.S. Highway 30 Update: Removing the detour signs and directing new economic potential into Tama County

1.2 Million people live within a 1 hour driving radius of Tama County, including some of Iowa’s biggest cities. But in spite of the fact that the shortest distance to reach Des Moines from Cedar Rapids or Waterloo is through Tama County, millions of travelers have been driving a detour…but that is all changing.

In an effort to lighten the traffic burden on Interstate 80, significant progress has been made on four-laning U.S. Highway 30 and the Highway 330 diagonal four-lane. At the current pace of progress, truck traffic is expected to double on U.S. 30 in eastern Iowa over the next 10-15 years. So how do we maximize the economic potential that comes from being a geographic hub connecting Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Iowa City, Ames cross-traffic? Join us! Here are 4 ways in August to get involved.

  • Highway Marketing Roundtable: Experts in four-lane and highway marketing and transportation will be our special guests at the next Tama County Economic Development Roundtable. Now that the four-lane is here, how do we make the most of it.
