Through collaborative leadership we supplied a pipeline of $812 million in new capital investment projects to strengthen and diversify the assets in Iowa. But beyond big number private-sector prospects we also work with the progressive small businesses, nonprofits, civic leaders, workforce, education institutions, utilities, transportation, housing, etc to maximize productivity and long-term prosperity in our evolving economic landscape.

Entrepreneurship Update: 23 of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. are 60 minutes from Tama County, Iowa

As the economy stands today, Tama County Economic Development is working with dozens of seriously vested companies preparing to invest $730+ million into our local economy over the next few weeks, months, years. We work hard for them knowing full well many millions may not materialize for one reason or another. Similarly we have also seen a record high number of local entrepreneurs looking to start-up since the recession bottomed out. Many of these new ventures may not materialize either, and that is understandable too. Because exploring options and connecting to trusted resources that would make the journey easier is just the first step.

But what do companies look like that have been growing the fastest in the U.S., and successfully created jobs and/or added new value to the economy during the recession? Inc 500 | 5,000 released some insight for us today and it turns out 23 of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. are within an hour drive, inside our business trade zone, of Tama County, Iowa.
