There have been some significant changes in the grant funding cycle and process for 2013 for the Tama County Community Foundation.
The application deadline for all 2013 grants will be midnight (CST) on January 31, 2013, with grant awards to be announced in April. This is a change from previous years. The grant cycle has been moved forward so that grant awards can be announced well ahead of the summer construction season and the start of many organizations’ fiscal years.
Grant applications will only be available online this year. Grant applications that are incomplete or that are submitted in hard copy form will not be considered for funding. The applications can be accessed at www.tamaccf.org, through the “grants” menu on the website’s home page. Grants can be awarded to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and governmental entities. They can be awarded in seven broad areas of community enhancement: Arts & Culture, Community Affairs & Development, Education, Environment, Health, Historic Preservation, and Human Services.
The application is not difficult, and if you are moderately skilled with online documents, you will have no difficulty in completing the application. But, for those who may like some “pointers” or would feel most comfortable having some assistance with the process, there will be a workshop at the Norma Anders Public Library in Dysart at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8.
Questions specific to the grant process can be addressed to Tom Wickersham, Program Director, at the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, at(319) 287-9106. Other questions related to the Tama County Community Foundation can be directed to Rick Krug, TCCF Chair, at (319) 478-2148.
